  • Hello From Israel!

We have had an amazing time so far here in Israel! We haven’t had very many moments when we weren’t either in class or on a field trip in Jerusalem. By now we have been through both the Old and New cities, seen the Wailing Wall and the Temple Mount. We have visited the pool of Siloam, trekked through Hezekiah’s tunnel, as well as the Western Wall tunnel, seen the Church of the Holy Sepulcher (which is the supposed place of Jesus’ death, burial, and resurrection), hiked up the Mt. of Olives, seen the Garden of Gethsemane and the Garden Tomb (which is also the supposed place of Jesus’ death, burial, and resurrection), and saw David’s palace and David and Solomon’s tombs. We read Scripture on the Western Hill where Abraham went up to sacrifice his only son. We read the Psalms of Ascent on the southern steps; a place where we can say with full confidence Christ walked!

As you can see we’ve been extremely busy! On top of all that, we’ve had classes, church, chapel and many kosher dinners in the caf. The group is really great. We all have “gelled” (in Bill’s words) quite well, and have really become great friends already. I can’t believe we’re already 1/5 of the way done. 4 months is really going by quickly You’re probably all waiting to see pictures so I’ll give them to you now. I love and miss all of you and I hope everything is going well for you! For more pictures go to www.ibexsemester.com!

P.S. We’re safe here! We spend a lot of time in our Miklat!

Be sure to check out my photos! I finally got them to upload!

  • Deuteronomy 4:29

But if from there you seek the LORD your God, you will find him if you look for him with all your heart and with all your soul.

I really encourage you to read the whole chapter, and even the whole book of Deuteronomy. It has so much in it that it is hard to grasp. It just continually shows God's faithfulness to His people, His love, power, grace, and mercy. He wants us to know Him more and He gives us not only this chapter but His very Word so that we can know Him more. It blows my mind everytime I read this chapter.

That wasn't actually why I was posting right now. Actually I have a lot on my mind and I can't sleep. So I decided to try once again (probably the 10th time now) to upload some pictures. By now they're about a week old but trust me, I've tried over and over to post pictures but the internet just won't allow me to. So...here's another try. I am going to try a new approach. Here goes nothing.

  • We've Arrived!

All 32 of us are in Israel! We had a long flight and long bus ride but we are finally at the Moshav. We unpacked all our stuff, ate dinner (which will take a little getting used to because it isn't american food, that's for sure). And now we're all just hanging out exploring our surroundings and waiting until we can finally go to sleep. Some of us have to finish our homework (....because we procrastinated)...and some of us are going to watch a movie or something fun like that. I'll post pictures as soon as I can. I hope you all have a wonderful week!

  • IBEX Spring 2008

In exactly 9 days, I will be on a plane headed toward Jerusalem, Israel with 31 other Master's College Students to live and learn in the land where Jesus Christ lived and learned. It is going to be quite an experience I know, however right now I'm really nervous. I haven't even started packing and I haven't finished the homework due before next week. All I know is that being in Israel will change our lives. Come back to read what's been going on with us. Hopefully it will give you a little taste of Israel.

    Shalom!

    Caitlin
